Most of us think daily about how we are taking care of our bodies. Maybe we are trying to cut out sugar or saturated fat. Or we are trying to exercise more or meditate more often.
It is also important to think about the chemicals we expose ourselves to on a daily basis. the air we breathe in our homes and the lotions we put on our skin could also have a negative effect on our health.
We choose to burn candles in our homes that I believe to be a healthier option. Below are the benefits of soy candles;
Natural - Soy candles made from 100% soy wax (always check the labels, not all soy candles are 100% soy) are made from a natural, renewable source. Paraffin candles are made from petroleum, which is a nonrenewable source that contains carcinogenic substances.
Cleaner Burning - They produce less black soot. Many paraffin candles release black soot on the jar and walls and ceilings of your home. While soy candles can produce a low level of soot, it is much less than paraffin candles.
Longer Lasting and Better Scent Throw - Soy candles burn at a lower temperature than some other waxes. This means your candle will last longer, so while soy is often a more expensive option you will get a lot more burn time out of the candle. The lower burn temperature also produces a much nice fragrance (we think so !) that spreads well, but is not overpowering.
Easy to Clean - Soy wax is biodegradable, it will wash of with warm water and soap. Our beautiful amber jars can be washed an re-purposed.
